You can also contact the competent public authority or pursue any dispute resolution available under applicable law. These policies do not limit those rights.
Terms of Service
1. Current service
Afro-Mkt provides seller accounts, monthly seller subscriptions and publicly visible product preview listings. Visitors cannot currently order or pay for products through Afro-Mkt. Buyer payment processing, delivery, returns for product orders and seller payouts will require separate arrangements before buyer transactions open.
A seller subscription provides listing access. It does not guarantee sales, visitors, revenue, placement, analytics or future features. Features advertised as coming later are not included as functioning launch services.
2. Accounts
You must be at least 18 and authorised to operate the seller account. Provide accurate details, verify your email, keep your login secure and notify us of suspected misuse. Use the same email for Stripe checkout and your seller account so your subscription can be matched.
3. Plans and renewal
Basic is €9.99 per month and allows up to 10 listings. Premium is €24.99 per month and allows unlimited listings subject to these rules and reasonable measures against spam or abuse. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. Stripe handles subscription payment processing. Review the final total, any applicable tax and renewal details shown at checkout before completing it; the amount shown at checkout is the amount you authorise.
Publication requires an active subscription. If the subscription ends or becomes inactive, listings may cease to appear publicly. Changing or closing a seller login does not itself cancel the Stripe subscription.
4. First-month launch promotion
The first 10 successful eligible discount redemptions across Basic and Premium receive 100% off the first monthly charge. The offer is applied automatically while available and expires on 31 October 2026. An incomplete checkout does not reserve a slot. The cap is shared across both plans and counts redemptions, not verified distinct people. After the free month, Basic renews at €9.99 per month or Premium at €24.99 per month unless cancelled before renewal. The offer does not provide a permanently free account.
5. Content and responsibility
You retain ownership of your photos and descriptions and grant Afro-Mkt a non-exclusive licence to host, format and display them for your listings and the operation of the service. Upload only material you have the right to use. You are responsible for your product claims, required licences and product compliance. Automatic publication is a technical check and does not certify an item’s safety, authenticity, legality or quality.
6. Restrictions and changes
We may restrict or remove listings or accounts for unlawful content, breaches of the Seller Agreement, fraud, unpaid subscriptions or security threats. Where legally permitted, we will explain the reasons and how to request human review. Urgent safety or legal issues may require immediate action. Mandatory notice and complaint rights remain available.
We will notify affected subscribers of material changes to the paid service or these terms with any notice required by law. A price change will not retrospectively change a paid billing period; subscribers will be told before the changed price applies and can cancel before that renewal.
7. Applicable rights
Portuguese law applies, subject to mandatory protections and jurisdiction rules that apply to you. Nothing excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. In particular, a consumer’s statutory withdrawal, refund and other protections take priority over these terms. If you qualify for a 14-day statutory withdrawal period for an online service, you may notify us within that period; using the website alone does not waive it. Contact us to exercise these rights or report a failure of the paid service.
Cancellation and refunds
Request cancellation at least 10 calendar days before your current monthly subscription period ends, by emailing [email protected] from the email used at checkout. Include your seller email and, if available, your subscription reference. We will confirm the cancellation and its effective date.
For a timely request, cancellation stops the next renewal and access continues until the current billing period ends. Late requests are still accepted and processed as soon as possible. If another month has already been charged because the request was late, we will cancel further renewals and provide a partial refund for the unused days of that newly charged month, with access ending on the confirmed cancellation date.
The partial refund is calculated as the monthly amount paid × unused calendar days ÷ total calendar days in that charged billing period. We will explain the dates and calculation in the confirmation. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 14 days; your payment provider may take additional time to display the credit. A €0 promotional month has no paid amount to refund.
There is no routine refund for days already used or for a timely cancellation of the current month. Refunds for duplicate or incorrect charges, failure to provide the paid service, and any refund or withdrawal required by law remain available. The 10-day notice request does not reduce statutory rights.
Deleting an account, removing a listing or clearing browser data does not cancel billing. Request subscription cancellation explicitly. We will not ask for your password or full card number to process it.
Seller Agreement and listing rules
These rules supplement the Terms of Service and apply to every seller and listing.
Accurate product information
Use an accurate seller name, product title, EUR price, category, description and photo. Explain the product’s materials or ingredients, size or quantity, condition and intended use. Include relevant safety information, allergens, licences or other disclosures required for your product. Do not claim approval, certification, origin or performance you cannot substantiate.
Automatic publication
A new listing may publish automatically when your plan is active, its description contains at least 80 characters and 12 words, and the uploaded photo is valid and at least 800 × 800 pixels. JPG, PNG and WebP selections are prepared as PNG for technical checks, with a maximum prepared image size of 5 MB. The server checks the actual uploaded image. Listings that fail or cannot finish a check stay pending; the dashboard offers “Check for publication” to retry.
These checks do not detect every blurry photo, false claim, unsafe product or policy breach. Sellers must still use clear, representative images and comply with all rules. Edits reset approval and require a new check. Publication can later be restricted following a report or review.
Prohibited content
Do not list illegal, stolen, counterfeit, recalled or infringing goods; prohibited weapons or controlled drugs; unlawful hazardous products; sexually exploitative material; or hateful, abusive, fraudulent or deceptive content. Regulated products must meet their applicable requirements and licences. The presence of a food, beauty or other category is not permission to bypass those requirements.
Use photos and text you own or are authorised to use. Do not include private identity documents, payment details or unrelated personal information. Published seller names, listings and image URLs are public and can be copied or shared.
Reports and review
Report a listing by emailing [email protected]. Include its URL or ID, explain the alleged illegality or rule breach, attach relevant evidence and provide a reply address when appropriate. Please state that the report is accurate to the best of your knowledge. We will assess reports and provide appropriate follow-up and reasons for restrictions where required by law.
Affected sellers can request human review by emailing the same address with the listing ID, their explanation and supporting evidence. We may request additional product information. Statutory routes to challenge a decision remain available.
No buyer orders or seller payouts are provided through Afro-Mkt during this stage. Buyer transactions will require updated payment, delivery, return and payout terms before they become available.

Information we use and why
| Information | Purpose and legal basis |
|---|---|
| Account email, verification and authentication records | Creating and securing the account and providing the requested service: contract; security and abuse prevention: legitimate interests. |
| Plan, subscription status, Stripe references and billing records | Managing paid access: contract; necessary accounting and tax records: legal obligations. |
| Seller name, product title, price, category, description and photo | Providing and publicly displaying your requested listing: contract. |
| Waitlist email and requested launch communications | Providing the updates you sign up to receive: consent. You can ask us to stop these messages. |
| Support messages, reports and operational/security logs | Support and resolving service issues: contract where relevant; fraud prevention, security and handling disputes: legitimate interests; compliance where required: legal obligations. |
You need to provide the information necessary for an account, subscription or listing to use that feature. Account services do not require agreement to unrelated promotional marketing. We do not use the basic listing checks to assess credit, employment, housing or other eligibility decisions.
Public listings and service providers
Your published seller name, product details and photo are public. Account email and private subscription records are not public listing fields. Avoid uploading unnecessary personal information.
We use Supabase for authentication, database and image storage; Stripe for payments; Cloudflare for website delivery and security; GitHub for website source and deployment; and Resend for service emails. These providers process information necessary for their roles. Stripe handles payment-card entry; full card numbers are not stored in the Afro-Mkt product database. Providers may also process some information as independent controllers under their own notices.
Pages load Google Fonts and software assets from content-delivery providers, so those providers can receive IP addresses and request information. The website does not currently include its own advertising or analytics tracking scripts.
Our providers operate internationally, and information may be processed outside Portugal or the European Economic Area. Their applicable data-processing and transfer terms describe safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. You can request information about the relevant arrangements from us. Provider information: Supabase, Stripe, Cloudflare, GitHub and Resend.
Retention and your choices
We keep account and listing information while needed to provide your service. After closure, we retain only information needed for outstanding billing, applicable accounting requirements, proportionate security investigations or legal claims, and delete or anonymise information when those purposes end. Retention depends on the relevant legal period, whether a dispute is outstanding and the provider’s backup or log lifecycle. Backups and copies already cached or saved by others may not disappear immediately when a listing is removed.
Waitlist information is kept while providing the updates requested or until you withdraw from the list, subject to records necessary to respect your request. Ask to unsubscribe or withdraw consent by emailing the contact address above. This does not stop necessary service or billing messages for an active account.
Subject to applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. We may ask for proportionate verification of your identity. We normally respond within one month and will explain any legally permitted extension. Mandatory recordkeeping may prevent deletion of particular records.
You can complain to Portugal’s Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD) or another competent supervisory authority. Seller accounts are intended for adults; do not submit children’s personal information in listings. We will update this notice when our processing materially changes.
